CLUB REHAB / GOLF TECHNOLOGY

Read the distance. Account for elevation.

The 20i GIII keeps elevation guidance close at hand. Choose an adjusted distance for shot planning or actual distance when the occasion requires it, with readings shown on a black LCD in one-yard or one-meter increments.

DESIGNED FOR YOUR GAME

Details that make the difference.

01

Find the nearer target

First Target Priority helps distinguish the flagstick from objects behind it. LOCKED ON QUAKE adds vibration confirmation when the flag is identified against a background, giving a tactile cue as you read.

02

Scan the line of play

Continuous measurement runs for up to approximately eight seconds. Gather distances to the pin, a visible hazard or a lay-up target to build a more complete picture of the shot ahead.

03

Choose the relevant measurement

Use slope-adjusted guidance when practicing on changing terrain, then select actual-distance mode when slope is prohibited. The compact format keeps both options close at hand.

A CLOSER LOOK

Elevation guidance in a compact form

The 91 × 73 × 37 mm body combines a 20 mm objective lens with 6× magnification and a 6.0° field of view. Slope adjustment adds uphill and downhill context to the measured distance, helping inform your club selection.

General maximum range and flagstick reference range are different. Target, light and weather conditions affect readings; flagstick distances are Nikon test references, not guaranteed results.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST ROUND

A little preparation goes a long way.

01

Confirm slope is switched off

Check event rules and disable ID mode when slope is prohibited. This model has no external slope-off indicator, so verify the selected setting yourself before play.

02

Keep readings in context

Select yards or meters. Target shape, reflectivity and weather can affect readings and flag confirmation; repeat a measurement if the result seems unexpected.

03

Prepare for a walking round

The 4.6-ounce specification excludes the battery. Use one CR2 3V lithium battery and protect the IPX4-equivalent rainproof body from immersion during wet-weather rounds.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Know before you choose.

Can it measure a flag at 800 yards?

The general measurement range is 6–800 yards. Nikon’s separate flagstick reference is 300 yards under Nikon test conditions, and actual pin reach depends on the target and conditions.

Is there a visible light showing slope is off?

The 20i GIII has no external slope-off light. Actual-distance mode is available, but you need to check the instrument’s setting and the applicable event rules before competition.

Does it steady the image or attach magnetically to a cart?

This model has no optical stabilization or built-in magnetic mount. Its core features are compact 6× optics, slope-adjusted distance guidance, a black LCD and vibration flag confirmation.
