The raised ridge provides a tactile reference for hand placement. ALIGN MAX uses a higher, firmer and longer ridge than original ALIGN. Choose the version shown in the model name, and check ridge orientation carefully during installation.
How do I install this grip?
- Check shaft fit. Gather grip tape, compatible grip solvent, vise, rubber shaft clamp, hook blade, cloth and tray. Wear eye protection; work with ventilation, away from flames.
- Clamp without crushing the shaft. Cut the old grip away from your body; peel off grip and tape. Never cut or scrape graphite.
- Clean and dry the shaft. Apply smooth double-sided grip tape, peel its backing and fold the overhang over the shaft end.
- Cover the grip’s vent hole. Wet its inside with compatible solvent, then pour the excess over all the tape into the tray.
- Slide fully on while wet. Seat the cap against the shaft end and straighten before it sets. Keep the ALIGN ridge straight underneath, opposite the logo.
- Wipe excess solvent. Leave undisturbed for the drying time on your tape/solvent labels. Before play, check it is dry, secure and cannot twist.
How do I clean and care for this grip?
- Use warm water with a little mild dish soap and a soft cloth to gently clean the grip.
- Remove all soap with clean water, then towel dry. Let the grip dry fully before play or storage.
- Store away from direct sun and excessive heat. Replace a grip that is cracked, hardened or remains slippery after cleaning.
